			Competition The ten feature-films and six documentaries in goEast’s Competition represent the current state of filmmaking in Central and Eastern Europe. In accordance with festival-regulations, they are all Eastern and Central European productions or co-productions with substantial participation from these countries; all produced in the last two years. Four of the feature-films in this year’s competition were directed by women (two are feature-film debuts) – a welcome development. All films are shown in their original version with English subtitles. Films shown in this section, but out of competition, include Srdjan Koljevic’s RED COLOURED GREY TRUCK (Winner of the Hessian Film Award 2004), Dmitrij Meshiev’s OUR OWN and the unusual short-film project LOST AND FOUND. An independent jury chaired by director Robert Glinski (Poland, “Golden Lily” 2002 for HI, TERESKA) will give out the awards. Other jury-members are actress Aleksandra Balmazovic (Slovenia), Jürgen Haase (Germany), head of distributor Progress Film, director Aleksej Popogrebskij (Russia, “Golden Lily” 2004 for Boris Chlebnikov’s and his film ROADS TO KOKTEBEL) and director Jusup Razykov (Uzbekistan). The awards bestowed are the Skoda-Award (“Golden Lily”) for the best film, endowed with 10.000 Euros; the award of the city of Wiesbaden for Best Director, endowed with 7.500 Euros. The documentary most impressively showing the changes in Central and Eastern Europe will be awarded with the Hertie-Foundation Documentary Award (10.000 Euros). A FIPRESCI-jury will also present a film with the International Film Critics’ Award. The directors will personally introduce their films at the screenings in the Caligari cinema. After the screening, they will take questions from the audience. After the last screening of the day, there will opportunity for further discussion at the Villa Clementine. All visitors of the festival are invited. All features will be shown for a second time at the Bambi cinema.
